Seven foreign factory workers charged with using fake identity cards

SHAH ALAM: Seven foreign employees of a textile company pleaded guilty in the Magistrate"s Court here today to a charge of either using a fake identity card or an identity card belonging to another person.
Magistrate Mohamad Redza Azhar Rezali fined them between RM3,000 and RM6,000 each, in default six months' jail, for the offence.
They are Ridhwan Likung, 26; Nurmina Kipli, 45, Nona Najuk, 45, Masriyah Ismail, 40, all from the Philippines, and Indonesians Sundari Mahmudi, 29, Salina Husin, 48, and Mulyani, 47.
The foreign nationals were charged with committing the offence by using the identity cards as personal documents to obtain job at the factory at 2 pm last Sept 14 at the factory at Section 26 Taman Perindustrian Hicom here.
The charge was framed under Regulation 25(1) of the National Registration Regulations 1990 which provides an imprisonment for up to three years, or maximum fine of RM20,000 , or both, if found guilty.
Prosecuting officer from the National Registration Department Zulkarnain Ahmad prosecuted, while all the accused were unrepresented.
