Seven men detained over lorry driver forced to swallow bullet-like objects

Police have detained seven men for investigation in connection with a lorry driver being forced to swallow six objects which looked like bullets in Taman Lian Seng, near Kluang, last Thursday.
Kluang district police chief ACP Mohamad Laham said in the incident which occurred about 11 pm last Thursday, the lorry driver, aged 22, was also bound and assaulted, allegedly for stealing.
Police received information on the incident from a medical officer of a private hospital who treated and removed the objects swallowed by the victim yesterday, he said in a statement here Sunday.
He said the seven men, aged between 23 and 43, were detained at various locations in Kluang.
One of them is the victim's employer, he said, adding that all of them, who tested positive for drug, are in remand until Feb 22.
He said police seized a Toyota Hilux car, four handphones, two sling bags, a plastic packet containing ecstasy pills, eight objects which looked like bullets and a pistol-shape lighter. -Bernama
