Sg Semenyih water treatment plant to be shut down again - Syabas

The Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant had to be shut down again due to the detection of contamination in the Semenyih River at 1.30pm Friday.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) Corporate Communication head Amin Lin Abdullah said initial investigation identified a possible source of pollution from the Lalang River near Semenyih Hitech area while the water samples are currently being tested.
On Thursday, Syabas announced that the same water treatment plant had to be shut down at 6pm due to water contamination.
"Water tanker with relief water supply will be dispatched to four districts that face water disruption," he said in a statement here on Friday.
According to Amin Lin, the affected areas are at Hulu Langat district in Bangi, Bandar Bukit Mahkota, Kajang, Semenyih and Riching while the Kuala Langat district are Morib, Banting, Bandar Saujana Putra, Bandar Rimbayu and Telok Panglima Garang.
In the Petaling district, areas such as USJ 1-27, Puchong, Seri Kembangan and Serdang are also affected including Sepang district such as Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Bandar Nusa Putra, Putra Heights, Pulau Meranti, Kota Warisan, Bandar Bukit Puchong and Sungai Merab.
"We regret for the inconvenience caused," Amin Lin added.
