The Cabinet will discuss on Friday the demand by a coalition of Muslim NGOs to form a Royal Commission of Inquiry over the alleged Opposition-funded cybertrooper group called ‘Red Bean Army’.
The coalition, Gabungan NGO Islam-Melayu, which claims to represent over 130 groups, handed over a memorandum to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim in Parliament.
"The group that has approached us claim that this a group funded by the Opposition. We would see if this request is reasonable, we note that there has been many police reports on this,” said Shahidan.
“The government is open to any suggestion by the people and will deliberate as we deliberate any other request,” he said.
Shahidan said that he will bring the matter up during Cabinet on Friday.
The memorandum was handed over by spokersperson of the group, Dzulkarnain Taib.
