Shahrizat confident with MACC's credibility in probing 1Azam project
Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said she believed in the credibility of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in investigating the alleged misappropriation of 1Azam poverty-eradication project funds.
The former women, family and community development minister in a brief statement today said the investigation showed the MACC was transparent in carrying out its task as an independent body.
According to media reports, the MACC had arrested a former political secretary to a former cabinet minister last Friday to assist in the investigation into the alleged case.
The individual was, however, released yesterday after his statement was recorded.
