Former women, family and community development minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil has so far not been called by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist in the investigation into alleged misappropriation of funds under the poverty-eradication 1Azam programme.
Welcoming the MACC investigation on the case, Shahrizat said the commission needed to be given space to probe the allegation.
"Ultimately, it depends on the MACC's wisdom to make the appropriate decision based on the outcome of the investigation," she told reporters, here, today.
Shahrizat, who is also Wanita Umno chief, was commenting on the arrest of a former political secretary to a former cabinet minister last Friday to assist in the investigation.
