Sherlock is Engaged!

In case you haven't heard, the 38-year-old Sherlock star is engaged to Sophie Hunter (sorry, Cumberbatch fangirls) The Brit actor proposed to his fiancée after allegedly flying to Edinburgh to ask her mother for Hunter's hand in marriage.

Cumberbatch announced their "forthcoming marriage" in a paid-for announcement in The Times newspaper that read, "The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London." The only way we would imagine this charming actor would announce his engagement. Understated, respectful and traditional – how very English of him.
