Shooting case: Victim bought new car before incident, to avoid being followed - Friend

The friend, who refused to be named, said the victim who operated a money changer business since 10 years ago, drove a Toyota Camry previously.

"He bought a new Honda Accord just two weeks ago," he told Bernama.

According to police, the victim died on the spot in the 3.35pm incident after being shot at 18 times by four suspects on two motorcycles.

Ten shots hit him.

A witness told Bernama that he heard repeated gunshots which he initially thought were firecrackers.

"I did not expect that they were real gunshots," said the witness who only want to be known as Sazwan, adding that he and two friends were having a drink at a stall nearby when incident happened.

He said it happened so fast and that people gathered around the car in seconds before calling the police.
