Shooting of father and toddler: Five suspects held

Five individuals were arrested for allegedly being involved in the shooting of a man and his two-year-old daughter in Semenyih.
The first suspect was arrested during a major operation held in Kajang and its surrounding areas, as reported by The Star.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Mohmad Salleh said that the first suspect, aged 29-years-old was arrested at Bandar Sunway around 12.10am on Friday.
“A car was also seized. He was later taken to his house at Taman Bukit mewah, Kajang where another stolen car was found together with two motorcycles.
“Also found were four guns and 69 bullets believed to be connected to the murders,” said Mohmad as quoted by The Star.
He added, two other suspects were arrested 24 hours later in Kajang while two more were arrested at two different areas - Bangi and Dengkil.
“We believe two of of the four guns seized are connected to the murders apart from being used for other crimes such as armed robberies,” said Mohmad.
During the incident on November 19, a two-year-old child died while her father was seriously injured when they were shot by an unknown individual at Jalan Besar, Pekan Semenyih.
During the 10pm incident, the child was shot in the head while her father was shot at the neck.
The child died immediately at the scene of the crime while her father died at Kajang Hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
