A pump-action shotgun which a security guard allegedly used to shoot dead an AmBank officer during a robbery at the bank's branch in Subang Jaya last month, was found in a monsoon drain, about 500
metres away.
According to a police source, the murder weapon was found in the drain opposite a spare parts company in Jalan Subang 2, Taman Industry, Sungai Penaga about 11am.
Apart from the murder weapon, a box containing three rounds of live ammunition and a spent bullet was also found nearby.
Earlier, the suspected killer guard - who was arrested by police in Kota Tinggi, Johor Sunday - led a police team to the scene.
There, the team spent about two hours scouring the area before the firearm and ammunition were found in the drain.
On Oct 23, a security guard assigned to guard the AmBank branch in Subang Jaya allegedly shot dead bank officer Norazita Abu Talib, 37, at point-blank range after she had opened the bank vault.
Norazita, who had worked at the bank for 16 years, died on the spot. She sustained gunshot wounds in the face and head.
The rogue guard escaped with RM450,000.
