In a strategic move to position itself as a global hub for business events, Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) took centre stage at the International Congress and Conventions Association (ICCA) conference in Bangkok 2023. With a clear focus on elevating the stature of business events in Sabah, the delegation from SICC seized the opportunity to not only promote the upcoming home-grown event, BE in Sabah on the 29th February next year but also actively glean invaluable insights from the international stage.
In the pursuit of excellence, SICC actively engaged with the ICCA to stay at the forefront of the latest trends, industry insights, and the future trajectory of business events worldwide. The decision to participate in ICCA Bangkok 2023 was driven by a dedication to enhancing Sabah’s profile as an emerging destination for top-notch business events.
“Participating in ICCA Bangkok 2023 was a strategic move for us. It’s not only allowed us to showcase the capabilities of SICC but also provided a platform to learn from global experts and leaders in the business events industry. We believe that by staying connected with the international community, we can elevate the standards of business events in Sabah and contribute to the growth of our region,” said the Chief Executive Officer of SICC, Datuk Hajah Rosmawati Haji Lasuki J.P.
According to Datuk Hajah Rosmawati, the engagement with ICCA is not just about acquiring knowledge, it is also a proactive step towards positioning Sabah as a preferred destination for international conferences and conventions.
“As we look forward to the home-grown event BE in Sabah for next year, the insights gained from ICCA Bangkok 2023 will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping the success of this event and positioning Sabah as a key player in the global business events landscape,” she added.
The mission of SICC is crystal clear – to transform itself and Sabah into a sought-after destination for conferences, conventions, and exhibitions, contributing significantly to the local economy and the state’s growth. The ripple effect of this strategic move is expected to resonate not only locally but on the international stage, solidifying Sabah’s position as a global business events powerhouse.
