The date for the sighting of the new moon for Ramadan has been set for July 8 (29 Syaaban 1434 Hijrah), according to a statement from the Office of the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal.
It said that 29 locations throughout the country have been decided as the sites for the sighting of the new moon.
The statement said the Council of Rulers have agreed that the method of deciding the date of the commencement of fasting would be based on 'Rukyah and Hisab'.
The Keeper of the Rulers' Seal would declare on the same night the commencement date of fasting over the radio and television.
The locations are:
