Signing ceremony of an addendum to the memorandum of cooperation between the UN-Habitat and Urbanice Malaysia

ON August 10, 2022, UN-Habitat and URBANICE Malaysia entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation to collaborate and form a strategic partnership in the spirit of trust and cooperation. This partnership aims to advance the commitments of the 2030 Development Agenda at the local level and the implementation of the New Urban Agenda.

This follows Malaysia's commitment to establish a regional Urban Agenda Platform, in line with the decisions of UN-Habitat's Executive Board in its Third Session of 2023.

An additional sub-clause, number 4, has been incorporated as follows: "Provision of guidance in the establishment and operation of Malaysia's initiative towards a regional Urban Agenda Platform."

We are honored to have the presence of the Honourable Mr. Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Local Government Development of Malaysia, and Her Excellency Dato’ Sri Maimunah Mohd Shariff, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), as witnesses for the signing of this ADDENDUM TO THE MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION.
