The Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands route at Km44 had not suffered cracks or vibration said a report based on investigations carried out by the Kinta Public Works Department's (PWD) Slope Engineering Branch.
State Public Utilities, Infrastructure, Energy and Water Committee chairman Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin said the investigation conducted by PWD found the road, which was monitored on a 24-hour basis, in good condition.
He said 425 micro piles had been installed and stones had been placed five-metre deep along the 430-metre length of the road which was constructed like a bridge.
"The road is safe for use by all vehicles. Until today, the structure of the road is intact and there is no sign of cracks or vibration. We want road users to feel safe when using this road despite allegations by certain parties that this road is unsafe and is only waiting (to collapse)," he said. - BERNAMA
