SHAH ALAM: Some 150 local entrepreneurs and well-known artistes are expected to take part in the 2023 Gempak Entrepreneurs Festival to be held at the Mlawati Stadium here from April 7 until April 9.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet with popular personalities like Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin, Farm Fresh Bhd Chief Operating Officer Azmi Zainal, who is also known as 'Bos Susu', Lah Ahmad and many more, as well as watch the performances by popular artistes.
There will also be lucky draws offering prizes like a motorcycle, television and an iPad plus for visitors, it said, adding that Rahmah vouchers worth RM40,000 will also be distributed to visitors.
According to SIDEC, it is targeting 25,000 people at the three-day festival, which will open from 10 am to midnight, and has 200 booths.
SIDEC said there will also be a live-streaming by Lazada at the festival.
According to the statement, there will be a Gempak Entrepreneur Award presentation on April 8 by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari to 10 high-impact local entrepreneurs.
"This festival is one of three campaigns under the Smart Raya Selangor 2023 namely 'Festival Usahawan Gempak', 'Bazar Ramadan Cashless' and the eighth edition of Malaysia's Top E-Commerce Merchant Award (ECM) Award.
"This initiative is towards creating a digitalisation culture by applying the use of digital technology in business through the widespread use of e-wallets, offline to online businesses and e-commerce platforms," read the statement.
The programme is sponsored by the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) and supported by AFFIN Bank as the official bank partner, Wavpay (E-Wallet partner), Yes 5G (official Telco 5G partner) and SUBPLACE as well as Lazada (E-Commerce partner) and also supported by the state government agencies.
