Situation in Kampung Sri Jaya Siminul remains calm
The situation in Kampung Simunul and several areas linked to the Lahad Datu intrusion incident appeared calm with Malaysian security forces present to ensure security.
Checks found the road leading to the village and the surrounding areas to be guarded by policemen and soldiers.
The security forces also advised the villagers who remain in their houses to be alert.
The situation in Semporna was also calm and under control, although it appeared rather deserted compared to other days.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar had announced that six policemen were killed so far in the ambush by armed intruders in the village yesterday.
Six of the armed intruders were also killed in the 8pm incident at the water village.
Ismail said the bodies of the six policemen had been sent to Semporna Hospital and their identities would be posted on the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) website after their next of kin had been informed.
Meanwhile, the situation in Lahad Datu was also reported to be calm.
Last Friday, two police commandos were killed and three others injured in a mortar attack by the armed intruders in Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu.
