Six burnt to death in Kg Pandan crash
Six people were burnt to death when the Nissan Skyline they were travelling in crashed into a highway pillar and burst into flames near the Kampung Pandan roundabout, early Wednesday.
Senior Assistant Fire Officer Hamid Daud said, 13 Fire and Rescue department officers were dispatched to the scene and took about an hour to extract the bodies of victims from the vehicle.
He said, initial investigations revealed the vehicle went out of control before it slammed into the concrete pillar and that one of the deceased might be a teenager.
They were identified as Simon John Hall, 40, manager of Leighton Offshore here, the three Filipino women were Siso Aileen, 30, Maileen Tentative Montejo, 26, and Mary Grace Macaraig, 24, while the two Myanmar nationals were Pi Pi, 20, and Esther Sui, 26. The Myanmar women held passes from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Iinvestigations on the cause of the incident is currently underway.
