Six family members, including two children, escaped from a fiery death after their condominium in Jalan Persiaran Gurney here was razed in a fire early today.
In the 3.30 am incident, all the victims were asleep inside their condominium unit at the eighth floor before they were rescued by firemen.
Fire and Rescue operations commander, Senior Fire Officer II Hashim Ismail said the department received a distress call at 3.42 am and a team from the Bagan Jermal fire station arrived at the scene about five minutes later.
He said the fire destroyed almost 90 per cent of the condominium unit and was fully doused by 5.35 am.
None of the victims were injured in the fire while the cause and losses incurred were being investigated, he said.
