The six family members, who were killed in a road accident on the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2) on Wednesday, were laid to rest at Kuala Terengganu and Besut early Thursday.
The remains of Azaman Ramli and two of his children Aliff Hateem, 16, and Aliff Hakim, 12, were laid to rest at the Kampung Masjid Raja Muslim cemetery in Chendering at 3.30am.
Azaman’s wife, Nor Noor Akmal Mohd Zain, and their two other children, Noor Amira Syahirah Alias, 22, and Aqeel Muslim Abdullah, 2, meanwhile were lain to rest in Besut.
Azaman, who works as a sales manager for a vehicle company in Kuala Terengganu, leaves behind a 19-year-old daughter who is still studying at the Wakaf Tembesu Vocational College in Kuala Nerus.
In the 12.30pm incident yesterday, the victims were killed when their car skidded and collided with a trailer due to severe head and body injuries.
Police said they were travelling from Kuala Terengganu to Kuantan before their Toyota Camry crashed into the lorry laden with rice.
Initial investigations revealed the car had tried to avoid the parked trailer but had skidded and went under the trailer. The road was said to be slippery due to rain at the time of the incident.
