Six killed in accident at Sibu-Bintulu road

Six people including a nine-month-old boy were killed in an accident involving a Toyota Hilux pick up and a saloon car at Km113 Sibu-Bintulu Road today.
The victims were the car's driver Mohd Serhan Suaib, 35, from Kampung Simunul, Semporna, his wife Dayang Norhayati Tusin, 30, their son Muhammad Danish Nurhan, nine months, Norhayati's sister Norafizah Tusin, 23, and Siti Nur Rasidah Mohd Adi Azri, two.
All five died at the scene.
The other victim, Napsiah Hassan, 61, who was a passenger in the Toyota Hilux driven by her husband Ali Kamat, was pronounced dead at the government clinic in Tepus, Ulu Selangau.
Ali, who is from Kampung Medong, in Dalat, Mukah Division, was uninjured but his four-year-old grandson sustained a fractured leg.
Mukah police chief DSP Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said police were informed of the accident by members of the public at 8.10am.
He said the pick up from Miri was heading to Kuching while the car was on its way to Limbang from Sibu when the collision took place.
He said the actual cause of the accident was still being investigated.
On Tuesday three people were killed in an accident at Km114 of the same road.
