DANGEROUS: The incident shouldn't have happened as firecrackers in the stadium can endanger the crowd, says Ruslan.
Police arrested six individuals on suspicion of lighting firecrackers during the final match of 2014 FA Cup between the Pahang football squad and Felda United FC, here Saturday night.
Shah Alam Deputy OCPD, ACP Ruslan Abdullah said the incident was not supposed to have happened because it was prohibited to bring in firecrackers into the stadium as it could endanger the crowd.
"After statements were taken from the individuals, who are in their 20s, the case has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's Office for further instruction," he said when contacted by Bernama.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 3(5) of the Minor Offences Act 1955 which provides for a jail sentence of not more than one month or a fine of up to RM100 or both if found guilty.
