Six-year-old missing, feared drowned in river outing

A six-year-old boy is missing and feared drowned while out on a river outing with his family in Kampung Loh Karai, Sungai Siput today.
A spokesman from the Perak Fire and Rescue Department said the department received a distress call at 2.06 pm informing that Mohd Danish Irfan Mohd Baharudin had gone missing in the river.
Subsequently, 18 firemen from Sungai Siput and Kuala Kangsar, assisted by five policemen and eight personnel from the Civil Defence Force, rushed to the scene for search and rescue operations.
SAR operations are focused on surface searching where the victim is believed to have drowned, the spokesman said in a statement here today.
