The skeletal remains of 99 victims of human trafficking syndicates have been recovered from the graves in the jungles here so far.
As at 5.25pm today, 30 skeletons were found in 31 graves and removed from a gravesite in Bukit Genting Perah via Felcra Lubuk Sireh.
Perlis Police Chief SAC Shafie Ismail, when contacted, confirmed that the skeletal remains of 30 victims were removed from the Bukit Genting Perah site, but could not provide further details.
"I was informed that it was raining heavily at about 3.20pm which made recovery efforts difficult because the paths along the hills were slippery," he said.
According to Shafie, only one of the 31 graves were empty.
"If all goes well, all the remaining graves will be exhumed tomorrow," he said, adding that there were still about 20 graves to be dug up.
Yesterday, 20 human skeletons which had been shrouded were found and brought out. They were found in 20 graves by the forensics teams.
Prior to that, 35 human skeletons had been brought out from Bukit Wang Burma near here.
