A bloodied cow head was discovered in front of the house of Seri Delima state assemblyman, R.S.N Rayer.
Rayer had contacted the police soon after making the discovery at 7am today.
“I was told by my wife that there was a cow’s head in front of our house. I called the police and Chief Minister to notify them of the incident,” said Rayer.
The Northeast District Chief Police, ACP Mior Farid Al-Athrash Wahid confirmed the incident and told reporters that an investigation is currently underway.
“After receiving the information, police officers were rushed to the location and we discovered a cow’s head in front of Rayer’s house. This case will be investigated under Section 298 of the Penal Code for causing religious disharmony.
“Based on the CCTV footage, we saw a man on a motorcycle placing the cow’s head in front of Rayer’s house,” ACP Mior said.
The police are currently investigating the motive behind this incident.
Recently, Penang’s Malay Congress had warned Rayer to not ‘play with fire’ following his rude attitude and continuous insults towards Malays.
Previously, a commotion occurred after several people stormed into the Conference Hall demanding for Rayer to apologize for his previous demeaning remarks towards UMNO.
Also present in his house was Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng.
Meanwhile, in a report by The Malaysia Insider today, Home Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi described the incident as the result of the DAP lawmaker’s “big mouth”.
“As a politician, I feel sorry for him, but that is the price he has to pay for being a big mouth,” Zahid said.
Zahid who is also the UMNO Vice President however refused to give further comments.
