KUALA LUMPUR: The Google's Market Finder module has recently been introduced as a digital market insights tool to assist small medium enterprises (SMEs) find new export business opportunities through the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE)-Google Malaysia colloboration.

Besides, it is a tool to strengthen Malaysian SMEs export fundamentals, as well as to broaden exports knowledge, thus enabling Malaysian SMEs to reach their full exports potential.

MATRADE said the digital module was introduced during a virtual workshop themed "Mahir Digital Bersama Google" which was attended by 500 SMEs.

The workshop was aimed at ensuring Malaysian exporters remain competitive through the challenging COVID-19 pandemic.

MATRADE chief executive officer Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz said the strategic partnership is an important milestone in efforts to further enhance SMEs capabilities in leveraging digital tools to accelerate their exports.

"This would also assist SMEs to reduce costs of conducting export business. MATRADE looks forward to reigniting exports by Malaysian SMEs through this collaboration," he said in a statement today.

The national trade promotion agency urged SMEs to register as its members to enable them to be more involved in its export promotion programmes.

The membership is complementary and registration could be done via www.matrade.gov.my.
