SPAD, Miros to investigate Rapid KL bus fire incident

The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) together with the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety (Miros) will investigate the incident whereby a Rapid KL bus caught fire, last evening.
SPAD in a statement Thursday said the bus operated by Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd caught fire at about 4pm near the Aeon Big shopping mall at Section 5, Wangsa Maju.
The statement stated, quick action by the bus driver in evacuating six passengers before the bus was engulfed in flames, avoided any mishap.
SPAD would also conduct a thorough audit on the compliance of Rapid KL with the SPAD Industry Code of Practice (ICOP).
In addition, Prasarana Malaysia Bhd was instructed to submit a detailed report on the incident to SPAD. - BERNAMA
