The bus driver who allegedly assaulted a passenger during a journey from Melaka to Penang last week may no longer be driving public vehicles.
This is because the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) has issued a letter to the Road Transport Department requesting the revocation of the driver's Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license.
SPAD in a statement today confirmed that the driver had been laid off by the express bus company.

In the incident on Jan 25 which was caught on video and gone viral on social media, the driver was said to have become angry when the passenger was found sleeping in a chair reserved for the former.
SPAD said it had conducted an enquiry on Monday involving the company, the driver and an eyewitness.
Legal action would also be taken against the express bus company for breaching licence conditions, which include the failure to ensure that the bus driver behaves and acts in an ethical manner.
