KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has been assured the 2021 Spanish International women's single title as national shuttlers S. Kisona and Goh Jin Wei will be up against each other in the final in La Nucia, Spain later today.

The 2019 SEA Games gold medallist and fourth-seeded Kisona stormed into the final after trouncing unseeded French player Yaelle Hoyaux in straight sets, 21-18, 21-10, in just 36 minutes, according to Badminton World Federation's (BWF) official website, https://bwfbadminton.com.

In the other semifinal match involving an all Malaysian affair, former world junior champion Jin Wei had no problems as she took just 26 minutes to advance to the final, winning against Eoon Qi Xuan, 21-17, 21-11.

Meanwhile, mixed doubles pair Tee Kai Wun -Teoh Mei Xing continued their fine form after beating Russian duo, Rodion Kargaev-Viktoriia Vorobeva, 21-17, 21-16, to book their final slot.

Third seeded Callum Hemming-Jessica Pugh of England await Kai Wun-Mei Xing in the final after the English pair thrashed second seeded Austrian pair, Philip Birker-Katharina Hochmeir, 21-13, 21-11.

In the meantime, Kai Wun is set to feature in another final match, this time in the men's doubles category.

Kai Wun and his partner,Man Wei Chong recorded a comfortable victory against Matthew Clare-Ethan Van Leeuwen of England, 21-11, 21-11, to meet French pair, Lucas Corvee-Ronan Labar in the final.

Earlier, Lucas-Ronan had eliminated another English pair, Rory Easton-Zach Russ, 21-13, 21-16, in the last four.
