Special branch monitors Daesh militant publication
He said his ministry had not received any print edition of the 20-page publication so far, which could be detected by surfing through the internet.
The Bukit Aman Special Branch is monitoring closely the Malay-language Daesh militant publication, believed to be operated by the group's Malaysian and Indonesian followers, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Home Minister, said his ministry had not received any print edition of the 20-page publication so far, which could be detected by surfing through the internet.
He said his ministry believed there was an attempt to spread the publication throughout Southeast Asea with a view to influence the people, especially those who understood the Malay language.
"The Royal Malaysian Police and (Home) ministry will continue to monitor any parties that downloaded or print the publication.
"I urge the people not to surf and print because it can be subjected to action being taken in accordance with the law," he told reporters after the Hilir Perak district level Teachers' Day 2016 celebration at Sekolah Menengah Sains Bagan Datoh here today.
Ahmad Zahid was asked to comment on the 'Al Fatihin' publication in the e-book or digital format which was detected recently.
The publication format was launched in southern Philippines on June 20 before its contents were published online and on social media.
Earlier Ahmad Zahid in his speech urged the Education Ministry to study the teaching service scheme at all levels so that it could be further enhanced as an appreciation of the educators' contributions.
"If we say teachers are the builders of the nation, but where is their social status? Hence teachers should be given better opportunities," he said.
Also present were Perak state secretary Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan, state Education director Rozi Puteh Ismail and Hilir Perak district education officer Sulaiman Samsudin and 1,000 teachers from throughout Hilir Perak district.
