Special formula for farmers, breeders and fishermen needed in Budget 2015
PPNS: Budget 2015 should devise a special formula to uplift the economy.
Budget 2015 should take into account the needs of farmers, breeders and fishermen, said the Sabah Farmers Organisation Authority (PPNS).
Its chairman Datuk Mohd Nazri Abdullah said the Budget, expected to be tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Oct 10, should devise a special formula to uplift the economy of these economically important groups with incentives, funding, and improved marketing channels.
He said PPNS, which includes 24 Area Farmers Organisations (PPK) with some 60,000 members in the state, is ready to offer its ideas on the formula, he told reporters after opening the Sipitang PPK's 34th annual general meeting here on June 27.
He also echoed Najib's statement at a recent consultation session that Budget 2015 is an important channel to allocate funds for 10th Malaysia Plan projects yet to be implemented and help ensure a smooth transition to the 11th Malaysia Plan.
