Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SPLASH) and the Selangor state government are still looking into the commercial terms before concluding the acquisition process of the company.
Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said, negotiations will continue with the Federal Government to check the ability of Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad (PAAB) to finance the acquisition.
“At the moment, negotiations for the acquisition of SPLASH by Air Selangor are still going on. It is in line with the duration of period prescribed in the main agreement.
“A few things are being looked into by both sides to ensure the commercial terms in this acquisition will not burden the people,” said Datuk Seri Azmin at the Selangor State Assembly today.
He said this in response to a question from Datuk Sulaiman Abdul Razak (BN-Permatang ) who asked the Menteri Besar to state the latest development in negotiations between the state government and SPLASH.
At the same time, he who is also PKR deputy president denied there was a delay in the negotiation process.
“The main agreement already stipulates that Air Selangor is given a period of one year, from the date when the agreement was finalised, until October 2016, to complete the SPLASH takeover,” he said.
