The parents suspect the girl ran off with her 21-year-old boyfriend
The father of a 17-year-old girl here, who is believed to have run off with her boyfriend since June 1, is appealing to her to return home.
Che Ahmad Din, 54, of Jalan Bunga Raya, said his step-daughter Nor Azlin Azelan had not returned home after boarding a car in front of his house, at 3am.
Her mother, Sabarashah Musa, 47, realised she had disappeared when she found that Nor Azlin, who would be sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination this year, was not in her room.
"Neighbours told us they saw my daughter hastily climbing up the fence and getting into a car which was waiting in front of the house.
"She took along her identity card and handphone. I have tried calling her a few times but she did not answer," Che Ahmad told reporters, here, today.
He also searched for her until Kuala Lumpur but failed to find Nor Azlin, who is a student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seberang Perak, here.
"I suspect she had followed her 21-year-old boyfriend. Prior to this, she did plan to run away but was thwarted after we found out about it.
"Worried for her safety, I lodged a report at the Kota Setar district police headquarters," he said.
Che Ahmad said Nor Azlin was a good child, jovial and responsible, and hoped she would return to the family.
“Her mother is ill, pining for her. If there is any misunderstanding, it can be settled," he said.
Che Ahmad appealed to members of the public with information on Nor Azlin to contact him at 012-5297161 or the nearest police station.
