The new leadership of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (Bersatu) Srikandi (women's) wing will focus on teamwork in strengthening the party and caring for the people's needs, said its chief Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun.
She said solidarity would be created through the work of Srikandi's leadership at state, division, branch levels as well as through recruitment of new members and election machinery training.
"Besides that, we will also strengthen Srikandi's movement in terms of forming a community network at the grass-roots level.
"This is to ensure that Srikandi plays a role in monitoring the policies of the Perikatan Nasional government and that they (policies) are implemented optimally to reach the target," said Rina in a statement to Bernama here today.
Rina who is also the Women, Family and Community Development Minister said, the move was achieved and decided at the first special meeting of the new leadership of the Bersatu Srikandi Committee 2020-2023 here yesterday.
Srikandi will ensure that the people and grassroots get explanations and benefits of the strategies and approaches that have been announced by the government such as in addressing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, aspects of pandemic recovery and the country's economy, she added.
"We also want the concerns of the government led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin, for example, through the announcement of PRIHATIN (Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package) and PENJANA (National Economic Recovery Plan), to be utilised and felt by the people throughout the country.
