Standard One pupil killed in two-vehicle collision in LPT 2

A Year One pupil of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Iman, Kemaman was killed when she was hurled out of a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle driven by her father, Amirruddin Mamat, 39, in an accident today.

The Toyota Hilux she was travelling in with her family, spun several times before turning-turtle when a car rammed the vehicle from behind at the 333.5km East Coast Expressway 2 in the 9.10am crash.

Amni Khatijah, who was in the rear seat, sustained head and body injuries and died upon arrival at the Ketengah Jaya Health Centre.

Amiruddin said at the Dungun Hospital's forensics unit where post-mortem was being carried out, he, wife and their four children were travelling in the 4WD to Kuala Terengganu from his mother-in-law's house in Felda Kerteh 4.

Bernama reported Dungun police chief Supt Ahmad Zailani Yaacob confirming the incident.
