Pahang police have recorded a statement from Pahang Mufti Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Rahman Osman for his remarks on 'kafir harbi' (non-Muslims can be slain).
Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Sharifuddin Ab Ghani said the statement was recorded at Abdul Rahman's office, here yesterday.
"The statement from (Pahang Mufti) has been submitted to Penang police for investigations since a report was lodged in the state," he told reporters here last night when met after breaking fast with the Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob.
Earlier, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar had said police are investigating reports lodged against Abdul Rahman for his remarks on kafir harbi (non-Muslims who can be slain).
Abdul Rahman was criticised by various quarters for labeling non-believers, particularly DAP, as 'kafir harbi' for objecting to the Private Member’s Bill on Syariah court amendments tabled by PAS president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang.
His remarks had also drawn attention from cabinet ministers and politicians nationwide.
