KUALA LUMPUR:The message of Tun Rahah Tan Sri Mohamed Noah should always be practised by the wives in ensuring the success of their husbands and the stability of the household.
Dewan Negara Speaker, Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim today shared the message that Tun Rahah always preached throughout her life.
"How the wife of a prime minister appreciates life.
"I still remember her words: 'We, as the customary words were spelt out, must take a step back, a slice under the husband's shoulder'.
"Her words are exactly the same as the customary words that ask the wife to act responsibly but not stand out more than the husband," he said in an interview with Astro AWANI.
He explained that such nature is a lesson that the wives of the elders should embrace and enjoy and live.
"This is difficult for us to match. She does not like publicity and does not care whether her name is mentioned or not.
"However, the value of the virtues she possesses remains famous," Dr Rais added.
Former minister Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil too spoke of the same attributes that Tun Rahah has been known for.
“She has this aura that is difficult to describe in words and I have always been in awe of Tun Rahah.
