Stern warning to those supporting terrorists

Deputy General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Abu Bakar stated there were a number of individuals from Semporna and Sandakan found to have sent money to Jolo to support terrorist activities.
He cautioned that the act is a form of betrayal to the country and the police are monitoring the activities. The police will not hesitate to take action against the individual.
"This is a serious offense and is intended to assist a terrorist act," commented Khalid.
Those arrested will be charged under the Security Offences (Special Measures) 2012 (Sosma) and if they are found guilty could face a life sentence or the death penalty mandatory.
Khalid therefore ask the particular individual to stop sending money or giving aid to terrorists immediately.
Commenting on the latest developments of ‘Operasi Daulat’ now into day 21, the deputy police chief, told a total 429 people were arrested, 116 of the prisoners charged under Sosma while 42 had been released.
