Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah insists it is too early to declare the COVID-19 hazard a low risk.

He said the development of COVID-19 cases can change day by day.

"Following the government's aggressive actions using a targeted approach, more cases have been identified and the number of cases has decreased slightly but the situation is changing today and it is still too early to declare the COVID-19 danger as low.

"Therefore, the public is being warned not to take the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) for granted.

“The MOH would like to remind that the reduction in the number of cases should not make the people complacent and taking for granted the CMCO.

“Instead, the community is urged to continue its efforts in the fight against the virus with the government," he said at a daily press conference here on Wednesday.

MOH seeks the cooperation of Malaysians to protect themselves against the COVID-19 virus by complying with the CMCO, practising optimum hygiene at all times such as regularly washing hands with water and soap, maintaining a safe social distance of at least 1 meter from others and adopt new norms in daily life.

The ministry, he said, will also continue to monitor the progress of the incidents of infections through the information obtained and will inform the people from time to time.
