Store assistant charged with handphone robbery

A store assistant claimed trial in the Ampang Sessions Court here today to committing gang robbery involving a mobile phone.

Syed Ali Syed Ahmad, 40, allegedly robbed Silverius Dominic, 23, of his handphone, with an accomplice still at large, at Jalan Perdana 2/20, Pandan Perdana here at 6.30am on March 26.

Judge Rushan Lutfi Mohamed set RM7,000 as bail with one surety and May 11 for remention.

Deputy public prosecutor Goh Ai Rene appeared for the prosecution while the accused, a single father with three school-going children was unrepresented. -- Bernama
