Student admission to IPTAs to continue as usual
Applications were still open until April 17, 2020 through the UPUOnline system.
The process of student admission into public higher learning institutions (IPTAs) for the 2020/2021 session will continue as usual.
The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) said in a statement that applications were still open until April 17, 2020 through the UPUOnline system.
"Offers are expected to be made on June 3, 2020 for Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) holders and 18 August 2020 for Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) or equivalent.
"The IPTAs are expected to welcome new students this year to basic and diploma programs including Matriculation in July/August 2020 and the degree program in October 2020," the statement said.
On Wednesday, Education Minister Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin announced the deferment of SPM and STPM examination dates this year to the first quarter of 2021.
Candidates of the examinations will enter the IPTA next year for the Academic Session of 2021/2022 expected in July/August 2021.
It is for basic programs and diplomas including matriculation and in October 2021 for degree programs.
