Student dies two days after being struck by lightning

A form one student, who slipped into a coma after being struck by lightning on Tuesday, was pronounced dead at the Melaka Hospital at 3.50pm on Thursday.
According to a report by news portal Malaysia Gazette, the 13-year-old Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) student was in critical condition after being struck by lightning at his school field in Alor Gajah.
The student from Shah Alam was walking back to his hostel with a group of other students when the incident happened at around 6pm on Tuesday.
He was immediately brought to the Alor Gajah Hospital before receiving further treatment at the Melaka Hospital.
“His body was brought to his home in Bukit Jelutong and will buried at the Perkuburan Islam Seksyen 21 in Shah Alam at 10am tomorrow,” said Mara Director of Corporate Communication Rohayah Mohd Zain, who was quoted in Sinar Harian.
