Students safety: Ministry to discuss with police

The Education Ministry will discuss with the police to improve the safety of students in schools.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said this was necessary to reduce the number of road accidents.
"We will focus more on schools that are located in critical places such as close to the main roads.
"School gates near the main roads are vulnerable to accidents involving students," he told reporters after handing over tablet computers to teachers in Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, here Thursday.
Mahdzir was asked to comment on a number of fatal accidents in front of schools due to the negligence of drivers.
At the event, 17,638 teachers received tablet computers installed with e-Tutor application and Utusan Melayu e-paper. -- BERNAMA
