Police obtained an order from the Magistrate's Court here today to remand businessman Noor Jan Tuah for another three days to facilitate the investigation into his claim as the sultan of Melaka.
Subordinate Court assistant registrar V. Kanasan issued the order to enable the police to further investigate the case under the Sedition Act 1948.
Noor Jan, 57, was arrested at 10.50am last Tuesday at the Anjung Batu Umbai Jetty, Jasin before he managed to board a boat to Pulau Besar to hold a function there with his "followers".
Last Wednesday, police had obtained a remand order from the Magistrate's Court to remand him for four days.
