The people of Pahang need not worry about Sultan Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah's health condition as he is getting better after treatment said Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
Tengku Abdullah said his father's health was improving after treatment from his private doctor and was resting.
"Everything is okay now, His Highness underwent a medical check up and now was on his way to receive second opinion (regarding his health condition) in UK (United Kingdom).
"People need not worry (of Sultan Ahmad Shah's health) but I hope the people will continue to pray for his speedy recovery," he told reporters after visitin and handing over personal contributions to flood victims in Teluk Gading, Tanjung Gemuk, near here, today.
Sultan Ahmad Shah was reported to have collapsed when presenting state awards and medals to recipients during his 85th birthday at the Istana Abu Bakar in Pekan, last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Tengku Abdullah urged the state government and government agencies, including the Irrigation and Drainage department, to conduct a holistic research on the drainage system which was the main cause of floods in the Rompin area.
He said the research was necessary to protect the paddy fields and houses of farmers from floods.
"From my observation the same thing happened every year. It is time for the Irrigation and Drainage department to resume a holistic study of the cause for the flood," he said.
A total of 299 flood victims from 76 families living in seven villages in Rompin were moved to three flood relief centres in the district when their houses were flooded since yesterday morning. Villages affected were Kampung Kurnia, Kampung Setajam, Kampung Sarang
Tiong, Kampung Mentara, Tanjung Gemok, Kampung Perepat and Kampung Janglau.
