Sungai Golok mishap: Body of last victim found

The ill-fated boat capsized on Saturday with 15 passengers on board.
The body of six-year-old Wan Nurhabib Naufal Wan Ahmad Azli, was found under the Sungai Jambu Bridge by rescuers at around 8am this morning.
She was the last victim on board the ill-fated boat that capsized three days ago in Sungai Golok and her body was found some 15 kilometers from the scene of the incident.
Wan Nurhabib’s remains were taken to the Pasir Mas Hospital for a post-mortem and later to be retrieved by her family.
The find end the search and rescue mission in Sungai Golok.
Yesterday, rescuers retrieved her sister’s body, 10-year-old Wan Nurdiana Wan Ahmad Azli near the riverbank at Kampung Bangkung in Rantau Panjang.
In Saturday’s incident, the two sisters and their mother, Rosmiwati Zakaria, 37, drowned after a boat they were travelling in capsized in Sungai Golok.
The boat was travelling from Pasar Mundok in Thailand to Sungai Golok with 15 passengers on board when the incident occurred.
The other passengers managed to swim to safety.
Preliminary investigations revealed overloading was the cause of the mishap.
