SHAH ALAM:The level of pollution in Sungai Selangor is expected to be overcome this afternoon.
Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said it was based on developments during the pollution rate reading in the river.
"Pollution rate now records a reading of 1 TON (Threshold Value Odor Number) and supply will only start to be channeled after the reading reaches 0 TON.
"According to the current reading development trend, pollution is expected to recover this afternoon. The water supply will begin to be channeled in stages after that.
"A police report has been lodged regarding the pollution case. An investigation is underway," he said.
Amirudin added that a total of 81 water tanker trucks, 34 static tanks and 17 local service centres have been mobilised by Air Selangor for the benefit of the users involved.
Another incident of pollution of raw water resources was detected in Sungai Selangor at 2 am today, according to a statement from Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).
Following that, a termination order was issued for the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant (LRA) Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 and Rantau Panjang.
The termination of these four plants has resulted in unscheduled water supply disruptions involving 1,196,457 accounts covering 1,292 areas.
It involved users in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang / Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat.
At the same time, Air Selangor informed the recovery as of 2 am this morning for the incident of partial termination of the Sungai Selangor LRA Phase 1 (SSP1) following the water pipe burst case on Saturday has reached the rate of 80 per cent.
