Sabah Parks would conduct a survey at Mt Kinabalu to identify a new route for climbers following the collapse of the old route in the recent earthquake here.
ItsTerrestrial Parks manager Maipol Spait said the survey would be carried out three days after the 'posogit' to satisfy local customs, which was held today.
He said the survey to be done by a sub committee comprising representatives of Sutera Sanctuary Lodges, Mountain Torg and mountain guides which he chaired, would also cover damaged infrastructures at Laban Rata.

The data would be submitted to the Technical Committee for evaluation and approval, he said when met at the posogit ceremony at Kinabalu Park here.
Maipol said two trails collapsed during the quake, which were at kilometre 1.5-1.8 and kilometre 6.1-7.
He said the trail from Mesilau to Layang-Layang was also damaged in the incident.
The earthquake on June 5, measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale killed 18 people comprising six Malaysians including four mountain guides, 10 Singaporeans, one Japanese and a Chinese national.
