Suspect who shot policemen deemed dangerous

The criminal who shot two policemen at Jalan Lembah Maju 1/16, Taman Lembah Maju, Pandan Indah on Friday is deemed to be dangerous and cruel.
Selangor deputy police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said the suspect, believed to be in his 30s, and his friend were waiting for victims they could rob.
"Based on their suspicious behaviour, we believe that they were looking for victims that they could rob and that area is crowded with people," Rahim said at a press conference held at the Pandan Indah police station, on Friday.
The policemen is identified as Lance Corporal Lional Richard Jr, 26, and Constable Zul Fazli Atlahi, 28.
"Lional who sustained injury on his stomach when shot by the suspect has been in service with the Royal Malaysian Police for eight years while Zul Fazli who sustained a minor injury after he was shot just below the stomach has been in service with the police force for four years," he added.
The police also found the motorcycle used by the suspect which used a false number plate.
"Based on the motorcycle's chassis number, it has been reported missing in Setapak since last year," said Rahim.
The two victims are currently in stable condition and the operation to remove the bullet from Lance Corporal Lional's stomach is expected to be done by this evening.
A mass search to find the suspect has been intensified. The Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar is scheduled to visit both policemen at 4.30pm on Friday.
