Swapped babies: 'I want proof from DNA test' - Father

The couple in the centre of a baby mix-up controversy, is still awaiting DNA test results to confirm their baby’s identity.

The baby’s father, Nik Ahmad Sabri Mohamad Yusoff said the DNA test is the best way to determine his baby’s identity, even if it means he has to wait for 12 days to get the result.

“I have gotten back my baby, but I just want this to be verified through a DNA test.

“For me, this is important to avoid any legal problems, especially in case child claim issues arise in the future,” he told Astro AWANI on Friday.

Nik Ahmad who has yet to name the child, hopes that the National Registration Department (NRD) will consider his situation and allow him some time to register his baby.

Meanwhile, a report in Astro AWANI regarding the baby mix-up case on Jan 7, does not specifically refer to any private medical centres in the state.

Its earlier title (which has now been ammended) only stated that it happened at a medical centre in Kedah.
