Tears of happiness ran down her cheeks.

No words could express how Aisyah Azizul Raheem, 15, felt after being reunited with her father who served a three-month jail sentence for beating her and her brothers.

Yet there was no feeling of remorse or resentment but just happiness.

"I feel happy and really like I don't know how to describe this feeling. What I know for sure, this is a feeling of happiness," she said smiling.

She looks forward for Hari Raya now with her father around and has even picked out her outfit for the occasion.

"Our theme this year is purple," she added.

Just as excited was Azizul Raheem, 38, who was relieved and happy to be back home where he would be able to spend Hari Raya Aidilfitri with his children.

He arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH001 at 5.41pm and was welcomed by his four children and other relatives who waited at the Tourism Malaysia office in KLIA from 4.30pm.

The first thing he did was to embrace his children Aisha, 15, Ammar, 12, Adam, 11, and Ariff, eight, for the first time after seven months of not having communicated with them.

"Thank you, to all who prayed for me and my wife. Now, the ordeal is over, my wife, Shalwati Norshal, 49, will be released on Sept 29 and we are eagerly waiting for that time," he said.

"So far she (Shalwati) is doing well. She is strong and I can't wait for her to return so we all could be together as a family," he added.
　
Azizul said he also intended to resume working as "duty was still a duty".

However, he said it was unlikely that he would ever return to work in Sweden.

"Maybe not. I do not wish to return to Sweden, if possible. Better give it to other (officers)," he said.

On the advice to other Malaysians who worked abroad or intend to do so, Azizul said it was best to refer to the Malaysian Embassy or High Commission abroad on local customs and laws to prevent such an incident from recurring.

Azizul's return is also a gift for Azizul mother's Rubiah Mohd Ghani who celebrates her 65th birthday on Tuesday.

"Raya will be more meaningful with my son's return. The children will finally be reunited with their father. Insya Allah all will be well," she said to reporters while trying to hold back her tears.

When asked of their next plan upon their father's return, Aisyah jovially answered "buka puasa!"

The family then walked into a vehicle waiting outside of the airport to bring them to their first break fast together as well as celebrating grandma's birthday.
